“Once an individual has mastered one’s self, only then can that individual express free will.” – Aristotle
Free Will as a concept has existed for longer than most nations of the world, and it is still a topic of debate with much mystery and questions around it. This capstone project was created to call free will’s validity into question as well as explore the topic in more detail.
This was achieved through researching the historical and religious importance of a construct such as free will, as well as looking at some of the scientific avenues for an explanation. The field of neuroscience seems most promising, so research on the Anterior Cingulate Cortex was conducted as to create a short introduction into it’s possible relevancy.
On this site you will find blog posts stemming from this research which were made in the hopes of creating a space to debate and continue this discussion as to what free will consists of and if it exists.
